Prime Design Firm – New 20,000 Square Foot Datacenter and Telecommunications Facility – Fairfield, CA

CEG is currently the prime design consultant for a new 20,000 SF Critical Switching Facility in Fairfield, CA. Currently, the project is well into design and will begin construction in autumn, 2009. CEG leads a team of architects and engineers to provide complete site and building design for this facility as well as being the Electrical, Mechanical and Fire Protection Engineers of Record. This facility includes space for a 5,000 SF Critical Equipment space, smaller separate data rooms, a Central Control Room as well as 8,000 SF of Administrative Offices. Design will be completed within schedule and on budget and includes significant Critical and Alternative Approach aspects including:

  • Critical Building Systems This building includes all redundant Mechanical and Electrical systems including Chillers, Air Handlers, CRAC units, Switchgear, Standby Generators, UPS systems and Power Distribution.
  • LEED and Alternative Energy This building includes aspects following LEED and it is expected this building will receive at least a Silver LEED Certification. This building also will include approximately 100 KW of Solar Power capability, expandable to 250 KW in the future.
