CEG performed a detailed infrastructure system survey and developed a comprehensive building systems plan to provide additional electrical and mechanical capacity to a 40,000 square foot data center facility. Modifications were designed and integrated into an existing system architecture that included:
- Diverse utility and service entrances (2000kVA, 2500kVA)
- Two standby plants (1500kW, 3000kW) serving multiple transfer switchboards
- PDU and RPP reconfiguration to support critical customer loads
- Multiple power transitions to optimize power usage between services and systems
- Redundant chiller plant installation consisting of 2000 tons of water cooled and air cooled chillers, along with reserve make up water tanks
- Switchgear, generator and chiller plant controls upgrades to integrate existing and new equipment in a revised sequence of operation
Design documents included full sequencing of all installation requirements to allow full data center operation during construction.
